Who You Are
You are a researcher at heart, motivated to surface and explore critical issues, ask important questions, and provide valid, reliable, actionable, and pragmatic information. You have qualitatively oriented training and experience in a social science or related discipline—for example, sociology, psychology, political science, economics, public policy, demography, education, evaluation, statistics, public/nonprofit administration, or public health. A graduate degree or relevant course work is highly preferred, and substantive relevant experience will be considered.
You bring a solid methodological toolkit and experience to the design, implementation, analysis, and reporting of qualitative data. You have substantial experience analyzing data using relevant software packages (primarily NVivo, other tools like MAXQDA/Dedoose/ATLAS.ti/R/Python would be applicable, too).
You have a strong track record as a project manager. You have experience delegating to others and motivating and mentoring people to bring out their best and to help them contribute as a team to developing client deliverables. You are adept at using software and systems to help keep projects on track, on time, and on budget (including Google Workspace, Monday.com, and Salesforce). You have substantive knowledge of the Jewish communal sector in North America and other countries, or a demonstrated desire, willingness, and cultural sensitivity to learn about it. You can sensitively navigate the diversity of people and organizations with whom we interact.
You are an outstanding communicator, able to write clearly and accessibly, to review and edit, and to speak confidently with clients. You share our company’s core values of teamwork, integrity, and problem solving. You are committed to working toward diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace and in our research.
You will work in a fast-moving environment, juggling competing priorities and deadlines with efficiency. You have good judgment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills. You are open to giving and receiving feedback and to continuous improvement. You hold yourself to high standards and value integrity, credibility, and respect for confidentiality.
We encourage you to apply even if not all of these features apply to you—we would be happy to help you grow and develop these skills on the job.
